Services News
The Information Services team at the Partnership for Aboriginal
Care (PAC) has grown over the last couple of months as we move into
the “Live” phase of the Trial. Along with Matt Coman
and myself we are happy to welcome Charlene Roberts and Nardja Davies
to the team. Nardja and Charlene have joined the PAC as Information
Technology Trainees and have been busy familiarising themselves
with the computer system as well as attending TAFE to undertake
the Certificate II in Information Technology.
One of the main roles for Charlene and Nardja will be to run the
Helpdesk for computer users at Biripi, Durri and the Port Macquarie
PAC Office. There is going to be major improvements in this facility
as the Mid North Coast Aboriginal Health Partnership has approved
the purchase of the Altiris suite of computer support software.
One of the most useful features of this product is the ability
it has for computer users and Information Services staff to lodge
and track support calls by phone or on the Intranet. It also has
a wide range of functionality for supporting computers and staff
using computers across the networks at Durri, Biripi and Port Macquarie.
Just a reminder to everyone that to access the computers at Biripi,
Durri and Port Macquarie staff need to complete the network, email
and internet access forms and have them approved by the respective
CEO or Director. You should not share your password with another
worker for any reason. Remember use of the computer system is monitored
and records are kept according to the user account accessing the
system, so please be careful not to let yourself be exposed to this
risk.
